MS, LCMHCA
she/her/hers
My name is Katy Murphy, and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) in North Carolina. I provide inclusive, client-centered, trauma-focused teletherapy to adolescents and adults (ages 12+) that is rooted in mutual trust, compassion, and cultural humility. I specialize in working with folks experiencing the impacts of trauma (including developmental and systemic trauma), substance use and addiction, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, issues around attention and impulsivity, and challenges related to trust and relationships. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and perspectives, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment and Polyvagal theories, EMDR therapy, and Mindfulness-based practices. You are the expert on whatever it is you’re going through. I believe you know best what you need, even if it feels unclear right now. I will work with you at your pace, wherever you may be at this moment, to help you feel supported, empowered, and at peace as you move toward your goals. Your feelings, thoughts, and experiences matter, and I will listen with an open heart and without judgment, always. With a foundation of trust and shared understanding, we can create a plan that honors who you are, what you value, and where you want to be
