Intern from ECU
she/her/hers

Hello, my name is Hollie Bowers, and I am a graduate student pursuing an MS in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis in Addictions at ECU. I am also enrolled in the Military and Civilian Trauma Studies Certificate Program at ECU, enhancing my expertise in trauma-informed care. Currently, I am interning at Salem Counseling and Consulting, providing individual, group, and family counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults.

My therapeutic approach is firmly rooted in principles of mutual trust, respect, and cultural humility. I strive to create a non-judgmental, open, and safe space, fostering an environment for clients to explore, learn, and grow on their unique journey toward self-discovery and healing. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, diversity welcoming, and culturally competent, recognizing and respecting the unique experiences and identities of each individual.

Theoretically, I rely heavily on Rogerian person-centered therapy. Interventions from other counseling approaches are integrated thoughtfully to provide the best quality of care, utilizing concepts from Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Narrative Therapy, Attachment theory, Polyvagal theory, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and multi-systemic counseling approaches.

My goal is to support you on your unique path to self-discovery and empower you to navigate life’s challenges with resilience and confidence. Together, we can work towards positive change and personal growth.
