Intern from ECU
she/her/hers
Erica Hoyer is currently a counseling intern at Salem Counseling and Consulting, pursuing her education in Counseling and Rehabilitation at the University of South Carolina as she works towards licensure as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate.
My philosophy centers on understanding and addressing the unique needs of each individual I meet. Growing up in a military family and living abroad has given me a broad perspective on life’s challenges. I aim to create a nurturing and supportive environment where individuals can navigate personal difficulties, ensuring they feel acknowledged and valued.
I have a lifelong passion for learning and researching new and improved ways of assisting clients on their paths. I have conducted extensive research on the impact of anxiety on the well-being of children and teenagers, along with the importance of providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals to promote positive identity development.
During my clinical studies, I gained valuable experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and ADHD to develop communication skills and social skills. I also have past experience working as a career coach for college-aged individuals as they embark on their future career path.
We may not want to admit it, but sometimes, we need assistance in sorting out our thoughts and feelings. Life can get crazy. Work can get hectic. Juggling all of the responsibilities that life throws at us can be extremely difficult. That is where I can help. Please feel free to schedule a consultation to connect with me.
