My name is Michaela Henderson and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA). I received my Master’s of Science in Counseling with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from UNC-Greensboro. I also have training and experience working with dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and mindfulness interventions. I have worked with adults ranging from ages 18-65+ in outpatient and college settings for individual and group therapy.

I understand each individual has a unique experience, and I approach each session from a holistic and culturally-informed lens. At times, life creates challenging situations that affect our wellbeing, and sometimes we struggle navigating those hardships alone. I am passionate about mental health wellness and want to work with you to achieve a sense of relief and peace of mind. My goal as a therapist is to provide an open, non-judgmental space with empathy, care, and psychoeducation to facilitate your growth in and outside of sessions.

T.J. Dudley, Intern from ECU
he/him/his

Hello, my name is T.J. Dudley, and I am a Counselor Education graduate student at East Carolina University.  Throughout my childhood and into my earlier adulthood, I have struggled with being my authentic self.  I walked through life trying to please others, trying to fit into societal norms, and trying to shrink myself in order to make others comfortable around me.  By doing all of these things, along with experiencing trauma, my inner being suffered in silence.  Through my own personal healing journey, I now believe that being your true authentic self is one of the best ways to honor yourself and the Universe.  My main mission in life is to use my education and experiences to help others discover their authentic selves, and build their confidence in who they are, while uprooting any negative core beliefs planted by others.   Additionally, my desire is to help others through their healing journey by creating a safe space for them to process past traumas, connecting behavior and thought patterns that are impeding on their healing process, offering different perspectives to help them gain valuable insights, and providing them with helpful tools for coping during triggering and stressful situations.  I am a strong advocate for the underdogs of society and the black sheep of families, as well as anyone who has ever felt inadequate. And I strive to promote mental wellness, normalize mental health, and be a positive beacon of light in the world.

Casey O’Hara, LCMHCA, NCC (they/she)

I provide HIPAA-compliant online therapy for adults and adolescents.

Much of our day-to-day lives demands that we keep thoughts and feelings to ourselves, minimize our emotional reactions, and conform to societal expectations that may not be in service of our true selves. Let’s address it. My philosophy is relationship-driven, so it is important to our work together that we both bring our authentic selves into the room. As your therapist, it is my job to model that authenticity for you and create a safe place for you to bring and explore whatever is on your heart. I am also of the belief that life is traumatic, and we can all benefit from support in reconnecting with ourselves, which in turn strengthens our relationships and communities. I have experience as an organizer in my own community and a degree in Postcolonial Literature/Human Rights in literature, both of which inform my work with clients.

Whatever you are feeling, it is okay. If you are afraid to change, it is okay. If you don’t feel hope, it is okay. It is because of my own healing and the healing I have witnessed in others that I know you can experience more joy and peace than you do right now. I believe it is possible for you to live more fully in who you are, to experience yourself more compassionately, and to develop the confidence required to transform your life into a place you want to be.

L’ashaunda Brown- Manning, LCSW LCASA
she/her/hers

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate. I received a Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Substance Abuse in 2012. I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for 9 years. One of my personal passions is to destroy the stigmas associated with mental health and substance abuse. I am a community mental health advocate and have experience working with various races and indigenous individuals. I use various therapeutic techniques to help my clients on their journey to self-discovery, healing, and wellness. I enjoy using evidence based therapeutic techniques.  I believe that our lives tell a story, and we are responsible for writing the script. At different times in life, we have all faced difficult circumstances. Dealing with our own emotions at times can be overwhelming. I provide a safe non- judgmental space to understand and process these hurts and experiences that can be mentally challenging.  We will work together during our sessions to help you gain a better insight and understanding of the behaviors and thoughts that can keep you feeling “stuck” so that you can move forward. I would like to note that at times during the therapeutic process, therapy can be difficult. It is difficult to begin to process trauma and life’s challenges. I do believe that you can overcome any emotional obstacle that may have hindered you in your past and or current life.

Currently, I am offering teletherapy to help alleviate the pressure of having to come into a physical office.  This allows for me as a clinician to have flexible hours to offer services to my clients. It also allows for my clients to have flexibility outside of the traditional office hours. Lastly, you can log on virtually in the comfort of your own home. If you are ready to begin your journey towards rediscovering wellness, I am here to help you. Please feel free to set up a time to schedule a consultation. I can’t wait to meet you and get started!

Jessica Leistikow, MS, LCMHCA
she/her/hers

I’m Jess, and I specialize in providing LGBTQ+ friendly, trauma-informed therapy to folks who are hoping to find release from shame, anxiety, childhood wounds, and a strained relationship with food and their bodies. My journey to becoming a therapist began with my own mental health experiences. I felt overwhelmed, isolated, and consumed by self-critical thoughts. I longed for support, but I felt scared to be vulnerable with someone else about how I was *really* doing and the things I was *really* questioning. My up and down relationship with food mirrored my own challenge with identifying and responding to what I wanted and needed.

I know how difficult it can be to be vulnerable with someone, especially when you have shared with others before and felt judged or misunderstood. If you long for a space where you don’t have to filter yourself and can be met with support, I would love to meet you. After working together, my hope is that you can feel more connected to yourself and others.

In therapy, you can expect to be able to talk openly about the impact of different aspects of who you are on your life experiences and mental health, including your culture, racial identity, sexuality, gender identity, body size, neurodiversity, ability status, and spirituality/beliefs. I believe it’s important to acknowledge how being white, cis, thin, and able-bodied have allowed me to safely access mental health care. I am committed to cultivating an anti-racist, fat liberation oriented, neurodiversity affirming, disability affirming, and LGBTQ+ friendly space. If you are ready to build compassion toward all parts of you, let’s talk.
